Only teams will register to the AgriHack challenge. Teams can consist of at least two members. A maxium of three members will be supported to attend physically the event in Durban. All team should have a member with proven agricultural expertise (agriculture student, researcher, farmer, extension officer, etc.). A developer can also be considered as a farmer if its farming activities can be demonstrated.
2. Intellectual property
By participating in the Agrihack challenge, participants agree that CTA may use the work for promotional purposes worldwide. In the entrepreneurship category, the copyright of the developed product fully belong to the teams developing them. In the climate change and agricultural magazine categories, the apps developed after the consultancy because CTA’s properties. They will not be commercialised and will offer information to the benefit of all agricultural stakeholders. The prototypes developed by non winning teams in all categories remain the properties of winners who would have developed them.
3. Selection of team
There will be a selection to determine teams who will attend the event physically in Durban. Some teams who would have registered may not be selected. It is envisaged to select in total 10 teams. Team selection is notably based on the quality of the registration information submitted and the involvement of an agricultural specialist (see point 1 above).
The cash prize won by teams will be transferred to them via bank transfer, after the Durban event. For the entrepreneurship category, the cash prize won will be transferred in two tranches : 60% after the event in Durban and 40% after completion of the incubation planned.

The language of the developed product must be English.
7. Be open
CTA and organisers expect participants to be open-minded, thoughtful, and respectful to each other. Despite being a competition, participants are encouraged to help and inspire each other towards mutual excellence.
8. Third party Copyright
Participants warrants that the product they develop is an original work of the team and does not infringe upon any copyright or upon any other third party rights of which the participant are aware.
9. Phase of product development prior to the AgriHack Durban challenge
By participating in this challenge, participants declare on honour that they have developed their product before the AgriHack event. Ideas, concepts, plans, wireframes, etc., may be prepared before the AgriHack kickoff.
